When Kari was a young cook in San Francisco, State Bird was the spot—creative, joyful, and full of heart. Stuart’s food was everything she wanted to cook: bold, playful, and unforgettable. After Stuart visited Hayward last year, a friendship sparked—rooted in mentorship, mutual respect, and a love for the craft. This spring, he welcomed us into his kitchen and now we get to return the favor.

For one night only, Kari and Stuart are teaming up on a collaborative pre-fixe menu—bringing together their styles, stories, and a whole lot of flavor. There will be two seatings for this special dinner, and both chefs will be in the room, connecting with guests throughout the night. The menu is $135 per guest and includes an 18% service charge. Wine, cocktails, beer, and a thoughtful lineup of spirit-free drinks will be available à la carte. With advance notice, we can accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian diners.

Friends in Town, a dining series by OpenTable x Visa, allows guests to experience collaborations between two chefs from different cities creating unique, limited time menus. Access to tickets will be available for eligible Visa credit cards through the Visa Dining Collection on OpenTable.
